These photos are my submissions for the annual 2008 Inky Dinky Do Photo Scavenger Hunt. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, my 15th wedding anniversary fell in the middle of this year’s Scavenger Hunt. My wife (with a little help from friends and family) had booked a cruise to Mexico. “Just the two of us without the kids!" So to not loose time I attempted to shoot most if not all of photos while on the cruise. It was a careful balance between spouse and camera. ;) So needless to say, I didn’t get all the photos I needed during the cruise. I hope you enjoy the images. OOPS! #6. Show me someone - anyone that knows you are taking their photo.... the catch? You have to have somewhere in the background or foreground a sign that says "inky-dinky-do loves you"- but the person posing can't know it is there! 
I knew I had kids for a reason. "Custom T-shirts, $23.95". Yes, it's a real T and not a Photoshop touchup.

"La Bufadora" (the Blow Hole) in Ensenada. #11. Show me something that reminds you of inky-dinky-do.

We had about a dozen dolphins swimming around the ship when we were anchored at Catalina. #13. Show me something hot. 
Those candles got pretty hot, trust me! #14. Show me someone in uniform and they have to pose for the photo- no fair snapping on the run! 
Our Dinning Room Maitre De! I wanted to get the Captain but the opportunity never presented itself. #15. Show me something from a unique perspective - it can be anything - set it up and then change it up before you snap the shutter. 
My "Son-ith Elder-ith" dressed in a tie! A rare species which required some special angles to capture for posterity. #16. Show me someone at rest.

When I accepted the job back east in NJ in 03, we had to leave our dog Cloe here in Bakersfield with a friend. When we moved back after 4 years, she was able to come home and rejoin our family. #25. Show me what it feels like to be you on a good day.

#26. +5 points- any shot of you with a local "celeb" or complete stranger holding a sign stating they don't know you. If you think we wont check you are mistaken. :)
Thank you, whoever you are! I thought about trying to get the Mayor, but I just didn't have the time to pursue it. #27. +5 points- show me a scene from a movie- costumes are allowed, but you can't tell me the movie in the scene, props are OK and using as many people as you like is fine. Think something everyone might know. 
How could I possible pass up the oportunity to re-inact this memorable scene? #28. +10 points- the most creative use of inky-dinky-do on a sign in any way. 
Last year an Inky sign was stuck to the Iger studio sign. This year I figured things had to be stepped up a notch, so I took nearly 75 photographs of local photographer signage. This actually turned out to be pretty difficult since photographers in Bakersfield have little or no signage. In fact, after going through the phone book and Google to get addresses, I had some difficulty finding some of the photographer's studios. Once I had the signage photos I used a popular graphics program to create Photo Montage using a borrowed graphic from the Inky Dinky Do website. The final image, shown above, is a web optimized image to assist with the webpage loading somewhat quickly. Click on the image to see a much larger image greater detail. The file is nearly 3mb, so make sure you are using a broadband connection or it could take a long time to load.
