    Old Photos

These photos are old scanned photo's from my Ilford Delta and HP5 B&W film days. I was using a Minolta X700 SLR camera body in the mid to late 90's and early 00's. Before the X700 I had a Minolta XGA SLR. I had another Minolta SLR before the XGA, however for the life of me I cannot remember the model. But that was back in the 80's, which for me was a very long time ago.

I used several different lens. But I used a Minolta 50mm f2.8 as my primary Lens. If I had to guess, probably at least 80% of my photos during that period were taken with that lens.

I'm planning to include more of my old photos in this gallery. To do so I either have to find someone with a scanner that can scan negatives or I'll just have to break down and spend the money on one. Which I really don't want to do because once I scan all my negatives I really won't use the scanner any more. So if anyone has a scanner with 35mm negative scanning capability that they would let me borrow for a while, please contact me.

  • Family  ( 8 items )

Family This gallery contains various photos of my family. Some are planned and posed while most are spontaneous. I try to take photos regularly of the kids. They usually hate when I get out the camera, but I want to have a good photographic record of their childhood to give them when they grow up. I wish I had the same for myself, but I don’t, hence the motivation.

My favorite photographs are those that seem to capture people just being themselves. Posed photos are okay, but they just don’t capture the true person (or persons) like spontaneous on the fly photos do. They definitely spark more memories.

  • Friends  ( 2 items )

FriendsThis gallery contains photographs of my friends. At least those friends that don't run fast enough to get away from my lens. Yes, they complain when I grab the camera bag and pull out the camera. Heck, some of them even run or threaten me with bodily harm. But you know what, I haven’t been hurt yet. And frankly, I think deep down inside they really like getting their photo taken. Either way, they let me take their photo or I’m a very patient man and eventually they forget about the camera and I get my shot.

  • Bands  ( 4 items )

BandsThis gallery contains photos of some of the Bands that I have shot during live performances.  I really like shooting bands at live venues.  I get into the gig for free, I get free beer, and I get to take photos.  I won’t go as far to say, “It can’t get any better than this”.  Because trust me, I could think of some other things that would be better.  A lot better.  But it is pretty good.  So if there are any bands out there that need some live photos, let’s talk.

Random PhotosThis gallery is a collection of photographs that I really didn’t feel fit into any of the other categories.  You might disagree, but whose gallery is it?  ;)
