Tylor and his friend Wyatt were practicing some songs today. They are trying to start up a new band. They asked if I would record one of the songs, so I did. Please keep in mind that this was recorded in a bedroom with just a few mics (2 Audix D3's, Audix D1, and Shure Sm57). It in no way is an attempt at a formal mixdown. It was just to capture what they were doing today. Click the musical notes below to hear the song.

Tylor had an assignment to create a 60 second commercial for his film class. I spent most of Saturday helping him film the shots and record the voice over. I think it turned out pretty good.

There was another home game and Avery marched with the Blue Crew again. The game was against BHS and the stands were packed. The game was good and ended 42 to 35 with BHS scoring the winning touchdown in the last two minutes. Be sure to check the video.

At 10:27pm Tuesday, September 20, 2011 our family member and pet of 11 years was put to sleep at the Vet's office to prevent him from suffering any more. All three Boys and I were with him in his last minutes. Over the last decade he made 5 moves and traveled over 6000 miles cross-country, "twice" with us. We will miss you TJ. Rest in peace.

Ahh! The sweet smell of fireworks on a summer evening. We attended the Shafter fireworks show on Sunday the 3rd. It was hot (triple digits). But we enjoyed the show.

We went to the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction in Orange County. It wasn't my day to win Lot#366. We had fun and everybody had their favorites.

This is a great fundraiser for our wounded vets. It was held at the CSUB Amphitheater this year. The shop supplied two Dynacord Cobra 2 speaker systems for the event. As usual, Dynacord engineering came through and the system sounded awesome. Von Cotton, Hot Taco, Molly Rocklind, and others provided the entertainment. I've included a video of Von Cotton performing "See You On The Other Side" from their Soldiers Lullabies album. It was shot with a Panasonic HVX200 in 720p from the mix position. Audio is a direct recording from the FOH mixer.

Austyn had a friend over to stay the night and they started goofing around in the living room. Boys will be boys. And when they start goofing around someone usually gets hurt. Well this time it was Austyn. He broke both his Ulna and Radius. Ouch!

We went to see my cousin kick off his world tour at the Grove in Anaheim, California. It was an outstanding show. We were left of the mix station so the sound was probably the best it could be without actually being with the mixer. I highly recommend that you catch a show if you can. My favorite part was when the other band members took a break off-stage and Joe burned up an acoustic guitar. I've included some phone photos from the show below. I wish I would have had the Canon DSLR.
